Collective painting series and performance 2024/2025/2026

The performance follows a participatory score: one painter paints on one dancer while one speaker answers two simple questions: How do you imagine us and our environment in the future? What are you grateful for? Then they switch roles. This brings bodies, voices, and surfaces into a continuous process of exchange and thoughts circulate through the space. The work is a shared act between conversation, ritual, and collective rehearsal of togetherness. Audience members are invited to step in, speak, paint, and co-compose the moment. At its core the performance engages questions of community, participation, and visibility, where gesture, movement, and language become tools for thinking with others. What remains are the painted clothes, later reconfigured as banners carrying the imprint of a temporary collective.
Each iteration is shaped by the specific place and the people who gather there, holding questions tuned to that context. During a residency in Chicago, the questions were "How was the summer for you?" and "What are you grateful for?" In a collaboration with Fridays for Future Siegen at Kunstverein Siegen, the question — "How do you imagine us in 30 years?" — opened a dialogue between young climate activists and audience members carrying memories of the anti-nuclear movement.
